The space itself, in a multi-leveled Chinatown conservation shop house, presented challenges as the brief called for intimate dining for couples and small gatherings. The building’s multi-levels were challenging in that each space required its own identity. A series of chain link curtains, table placements, dark textured woods and highly reflective materials were installed to unite the spaces, to achieve privacy without claustrophobia, visibility without complete exposure. The entry portal is discreet, intentionally heightening the sense of exclusivity and privacy while a full height mirror at the end wall of the lounge and ceiling create the illusion of a much larger space.
